Rare Cimar 6 string acoustic guitar Model No. 355
Reference HT.75 12.128 Now sold
Cimar was a guitar brand owned by Hoshino Gakki. In the 1970s,
Hoshino Gakki and Kanda Shokai shared some guitar designs and so
some Ibanez and Greco guitars have the same features.
`Cimar` was a line of guitar used by Hoshino Gakki in the 1970s and
1980s, manufactured by the same manufacturer as Ibanez (FujiGen
Gakki). The Cimar branded guitars had a differently shaped headstock
than the Ibanez branded guitars.
Hoshino Gakki owned the Ibanez brand name but did not own the Cimar
brand name. Hoshino Gakki contracted Cimar to produce guitars based
on Cimar guitar designs which resulted in the "Cimar by Ibanez" logo
and the appearance of "Cimar by Ibanez" guitars in some Hoshino
Gakki Ibanez catalogues.
